Great Places Housing Group wants to develop 57 one and 25 two-bedroom apartments in a six-storey block close to Manchester City’s Etihad Stadium.
The one-acre site earmarked for the 82-home affordable scheme was once occupied by the former The Manchester pub. It was demolished in 2020.
Manchester City Council has recommended the project for approval. Its planning committee will meet next week to determine the application.
Designed by Bowker Sadler, the development is one of the first to come forward as part of plans to regenerate Grey Mare Lane.
One Manchester and This City, the city council’s housing delivery company, are also working on projects at the estate.
SK Transport Planning, Energy Counsel, Azymuth Acoustics UK, Mulberry, E3P, Anthony Nickson Ecology, and Saville Landscape Design each contributed to the scheme.
